Indian Scholar Hails “Okht o Reda” Film as a Milestone in Religious Education

Qom, Iran – In a recent speech, prominent Indian scholar Hojatoleslam Seyyed Masoud Akhtar Razavi praised the screening of the film Okht o Reda as a unique opportunity to convey the message of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) to younger generations. He highlighted that the work presents religious knowledge and spiritual values in an engaging and accessible manner.

Speaking to Hawzah News Agency, Seyyed Masoud Akhtar Razavi, founder of the Alawi Darul Quran School in Qom, described the screening of the first Urdu-language religious and historical film Okht o Reda at Venus Cinema as both a religious service and an innovative medium for educating children and adolescents about the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them).

He further noted that the film’s release on the occasion of the demise anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (peace be upon her) marks a historic moment, as it represents the first cinematic depiction of her holy life.

Okht o Reda will play a pivotal role in fostering religious understanding among young viewers,” Razavi said. He emphasized that Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh’s (peace be upon her) journey from Medina to Khorasan and Qom during the era of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (peace be upon him) was not only a visit to meet the Imam but also a missionary endeavor aimed at spreading the message of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

The Indian scholar also highlighted the active role of women in religious propagation, stating that Hazrat Masoumeh (peace be upon her) demonstrated that women can effectively convey the message of Islam through dedication and action.

Commenting on the significance of Qom, he added: “The land of Qom gained its honor through the presence and blessings of Hazrat Masoumeh (peace be upon her). Her caravan’s stop here transformed the city into a center of knowledge and virtue.”

Concluding his remarks, Razavi pointed out that scholars and researchers from across the globe continue to visit the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (peace be upon her) to benefit from its spiritual and scientific guidance. He described the screening of Okht o Reda as an important step in passing the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) to current and future generations.
